Jerry Boone Yopp

Mr. Jerry Boone Yopp, 78, of Gainesville passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Private graveside services for family only will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Stone officiating. There will be a private family only visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Yopp was born on November 17, 1942 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late James L. Yopp, Sr. and Gaynelle Cain Yopp. Mr. Yopp was retired from Hoover Precision, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Christ Place Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Yopp is preceded in death by his son, Jeremy B. Yopp, grandson, Dustin Matthew Fowler and brother, Rev. J.L. Yopp.

Mr. Yopp is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Chapman Yopp of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Lynn Yopp Gibson and Tim of Franklin N.C.; daughter and son in law, Rebecca Yopp Peck and Robert of Gainesville; grandson, Thomas “Bryson” Yopp; granddaughter, Caitlin Gibson, grandson and wife, Nathan Gibson (Elizabeth); grandsons, Justin Gibson, Zach Fowler; granddaughter, Aliyah Peck;  sister, Joan Fuss of NY; a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
