Winnie Thelma Broome

Mrs. Winnie Thelma Broome, 97, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Willow Wood Nursing Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with her grandson, Michael Shubert officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

 
Born on March 25, 1924 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Elizabeth Phagan Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Broome is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Broome, and five siblings.

 
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, David and Janice Campbell of Gainesville; grandson and wife, Michael and Becky Shubert of Oakwood, Mark and Tia Shubert of Miramar Beach, FL; granddaughter and husband, Sallie and Jason Hensley of Homer; great-grandchildren, Josh and Julie, Seth and Kaitlin, Heather, Madi, Jakson, Austin, and Jeremiah; brother, C.H. Campbell; sister, Pat Parker and a number of nieces and nephews.
