Mr. Billy Mattox, Jr. was born in Elberton, Ga to the Late Sam Olive & Hester Mae Mattox on Feb 21, 1946. He attended E.E. Butler High School and attended college at Central Texas where he studied Criminal Justice. Mr. Mattox also served in the United States Army. He was also the owner of BJ’s Janitorial Service.
Proceeded in death by his mother Hester Mae Mattox, Father Sam Oliver Mattox, brothers James O. Mattox, Wilburn F. Mattox. Sisters Verma Ruth Lott, Elizabeth Carrington and Roszell Langston Almond.
Mr. Billy Mattox is survived by his wife Ludessia Lipscomb Mattox of Gillsville, GA one daughter Monique Owens of Killen, TX. Two sons Tift (Alma) Mattox of Flowery Branch, GA and Billy Tairaun Mattox of Gillsville, GA. His grandchildren and Great grandchildren Jonathan Owens, Brennen Owens, Janyah Owens, Brayden Owens, Princeton Owens, Kaiyah Owens of Gainesville, GA, Austin Mattox, Abriana Mattox of Flowery Branch. One brother Alton Mattox of Warner Robins, GA, sisters Sara Griffeth, Dorothy Carter, Francine Mays of Gainesville, GA, Betty (Edward) Shields of Las Vegas, NV.
The Visitation for Mr. Mattox will be held Monday, October 18, 2021, at Wimberly Funeral Home between the hours 12-8pm. Mr. Mattox's Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at the hour of 1pm at Pleasant Hil UMC. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
