Vicaro Nappo

Obituary Date: Friday, October 29, 2021

Vicaro Nappo, 22, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away with peace, honor and grace on the 29th of October 2021.

Never a more beautiful soul walked this earth. Vicaro's wisdom, compassion, capacity to understand, and ability to love fully and without question, not only mirrored a true testament to his Faith, but just as with all great Faith, tremendously affected more than a hundred grateful individuals - and that's just counting immediate family.

"Mr. Handsome", as he is known in the pottery world, was an expert athlete and scholar, as well as an artist of many different mediums. He loved to create, build, and dream - and was incredible at all three.

Vic was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandfathers, Belton Caro Haynie Jr, Gennaro 'Gino' Nappo, James ‘Mac’ McCalla Sr, one grandmother, Mildred McCalla, and one little cousin, Kathryn Shay Armstrong. Both of his other grandmothers, Genevieve Lou Haynie and Mary Elizabeth Nappo, are still around to give everyone a hard time.

Vicaro's legacy and impact is carried on indefinitely by his mother, Laurie Haynie McCalla, fathers, Salvatore Nappo and William ‘Bill’ McCalla, as well as an adoring sister and niece. His aunts, uncles, and cousins from all familial sides are very much in awe of Vic’s strength, courage, and compassion.

A non-profit organization, Camp Sunshine, brought a lot of happiness and connection during Vic’s teen years. The organization’s mission is to enrich the lives of Georgia children with life-altering illnesses through year-round programs of inclusion, support, and education.

Donations in Vic’s memory may be sent to Camp Sunshine, 1850 Clairmont Road, Decatur GA 30033, for those interested.

A celebration of his life is being planned for 2022.
