Mr. James Terrell "J.T." Mullinix, age 78, passed away on October 30, 2021, at his home in Toccoa.
Born July 25, 1943, he was the son of the late James Herbert "Hub" and Mattie Simmons Mullinix.
He was known as an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends and family refer to him as "The Legend." He was a welder and pipefitter by trade, spending many years with Coats & Clark before retiring with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 72. His children and grandchildren are blessed to have had a father that instilled an appreciation for the land and love of country. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 57 years, Christine Sheriff Mullinix.
Survivors include daughter, Tracy Presley of Martin; son and daughter-in-law Clay and Lawanda Mullinix of Toccoa; daughter and son-in-law Brandi and 1st Sgt Ryan Rogers of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren, Mason Mullinix, Lea Presley, Houston Mullinix, Cruz Mullinix, Julia Rogers, James Rogers, and Lane Presley; and brother and sister-in-law Charles Lynn and Linda Mullinix.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 6, 2021, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roger Elrod officiating. Son, son-in-law and grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Clay Mullinix, Mason Mullinix, Houston Mullinix, Cruz Mullinix, Ryan Rogers, James Rogers and Lane Presley.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the service time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
