Anthony James “Jamey” Brooks age 43, of Dahlonega passed away on November 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Jamey was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and worked most of his adult life working for Picture Perfect vinyl siding. Jamey was full of life and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone he encountered. Jamey was known for his passion for recreational vehicles and always hoarding zip ties and flashlights. He always had a smile and tried to make everyone laugh. He will be deeply missed.
Jamey is preceded in death by his rainbow baby, mother and father-in-law Robert & Gracie Lance, grandparents Clarence & Zora Mae (Grizzle) Anderson, Patsy (Davis) Brooks, Jimmy Frank Bruce, Lee and Flora Watkins, great-grandparents Tal & Sydney Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years Anita (Lance) Brooks, mother and father Robert & Catherine (Anderson) Brooks, sister and brother in law; Angela & Jason Nalley; daughter and son in law Autumn & Daniel Layman (baby on the way) fur baby Bella Brooks; sibling in laws; Robert & Vicki Lance, Johnny Lance, Shane Lance, Jackie Lance; special “brother’s & sister’s” William Journigan, Kyle Anderson, Jamie Wade, Michael Tuggle, Chris Tuggle, David “Domino” Anderson, Joe Dobbs, Kevin Gilreath, Kenny Haas, Kristy Saucier, Katie Keith, Leslie Journigan, Amanda Dellinger, Julie Armstrong, Carol Haas, Aireyll Simmons, Samantha Tanner Bearden, Ashley Payne, Rachel Stevens, Kristi (Defoore) Davis, and many more.
Family will receive friends on Friday November 19th, 2021 at Dahlonega Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm, and Saturday November 20th, 2021 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Dahlonega Funeral Home following Saturday’s visitation. It will begin at 6:00pm with a flashlight to heaven celebration afterwards. Jamie Wade to officiate. Burial will be on Sunday November 21, 2021 at 3pm at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega. The family asks that everyone “if they can’t out style” Jamey; come casual and as you are. (And we know Jamey was hard to compete with on style).
Jamey was a big kid at heart and loved the holidays, in his honor the family asked that everyone bring a new unwrapped toy for our local Toys For Tots Donation drive.
