Mr. Clarence Henry Ayers, age 83 of Lilburn, Georgia passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at his residence.
A son of the late Henry Goss Ayers and Eunice Johnson Ayers, he was born September 1, 1938 in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a graduate of Toccoa High School, Class of 1957. He had lived in Lilburn, Georgia for most of his life. He was a Veteran of the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He was retired from General Motors with 35 years of service. He was a member of Mountain Park First Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, a member of the Masonic Lodge #309, Royal Arch, Shriner and Commandery of Knights Templar and a member of the N E Shrine Club Clown Unit and he was Mr. Bojangles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jackie Price.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margie Stowe Ayers of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Perry Carswell of Helen, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Clarence Henry “Rusty” Ayers, II and Monica of Jefferson, Georgia; three grandchildren, Joshua Carswell, Madison Carswell and Cassidy Carswell; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Louellen Ayers of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Marvin Goss of Toccoa; brother-in-law, Ron Price of Toccoa.
Memorial services will be Saturday, December 18, 2021, 3O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
