Waymon Edsel Cason

Waymon Edsel Cason, 78, of Cumming, GA passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. Waymon was born June 19, 1943 in Portsmouth, NH to the late Harvin and Leona (Crews) Cason. He grew up in the Atlanta area, serving in both the Georgia National Guard and the Florida National Guard and retired as a E8 First Class. Waymon was an Ordained Minister of the Southern Baptist Faith and a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Cason Hammond; brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Barbara Cason; sister, Evelyn Cason; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Kent Pribble; and brother, Vernon Cason.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Power Cason of Cumming; son, Waymon Scott (Cheryl) Cason of Cleveland, OH; grandson, Cason Nathan Hammond of Dawsonville, GA as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Coal Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Martin, Rev. Paul Palmer and Rev. Donald Cason officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 4, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
