Melinda Anne Adams

Mrs. Melinda Anne Adams, age 73 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born in California on October 8, 1948 to the late Fannie Odom Self and the late Homer Adams. She was a member of Wahoo Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime was playing softball, hunting, fishing, and being with family. She will forever be remembered for being a loving mother, sister, and “grandma” to many. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandsons, Matthew and Zachery Slaughter; and siblings, Earl Adams, Barnelle Adams, Jimmy Adams, Johnny Adams, Gene Adams, Rose Morriella, Marty Tridco, Chubby Inez Dowdy and Freddy Jeannette Adams.

She is survived by her loving children, Deanne (Darren) Lenahan of Port Richey, Fl., Tina Wycough of Dallas, Tx., Jimbo (Chrystal) Dowdy of Dahlonega, Tammy Dowdy (Carl) Cox of Dawsonville, John (Jessica) Dowdy of Dahlonega; sister, Elizabeth (Roger) Bowshier; grandchildren, Katie Slaughter, Christine Bice, Jennifer Bice, Ryan Bice, Leslie Wycough, James Dowdy Jr., London Eriquezzo, Kyle Dowdy (Amber Allen), Chase Abernathy (Bailey English), Rebecca Cox, Rebecca Dowdy, Bojack Dowdy and Christopher Dowdy; great grandchildren, Halleigh Wears, Landon Desaro, Ariel Greene, Layla Greene, Zayne Bice, Bella Dowdy, Paisley English, Braxton Dowdy and Oakley Abernathy. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30pm Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Rev. John Dowdy, Rev. Mark Wheeler, Rev. Tony Holtzclaw and Rev. Mark Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Wahoo Baptist Church in Murrayville, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00am until the service hour.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home in remembrance of  Melinda, to help the family offset the funeral expenses.
