Mamie Sutton

Mamie Sutton, age 93 of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Ms. Sutton was born April 8, 1928, in White County to the late Robert and Lillie Shelnut Pruitt. Mamie was homemaker and a seamstress for Babyland General and Cleveland Sportswear. She was a member of the Woodlawn Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her children, Lunette Sutton, Dan Sutton, Eddie Sutton, Harold Sutton, Victor Owenby, Louis Keith Sutton; brother Lonnie Pruitt; sister Lois Gooch; daughter-in-law Shelia Owenby and grandson, Shannon Sutton.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Freddie and Judy Sutton; Billy and Annette Owenby; Harley Owenby, all of Cleveland; daughter-in-law Alice Sutton; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Frank Shook, Demorest; brother, Lawrence Pruitt, Cleveland; sisters, Pauline Bryan, Cleveland; Essie Gilstrap, Murrayville; Jeannette Barnes, Jefferson; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Matt Pruitt and the Rev. Jeremy Garmon will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
