Pierce Lee Bennett

Pierce Lee Bennett, 88 of Gainesville/ Forsyth County, died January 10, 2022.

Being the oldest boy  he learned work ethics at a early age.  Provided well for his family  whom he loved dearly.  Family was very important to him. Mr. Bennett was in construction work and property management until he retired.  He was well known for his humor and love of family and friends.  Adopted into the Allen family, he was always there when he was needed to help in whatever way the family needed.  Born in Forsyth County, Mr. Bennett lived in Gainesville for a number of years before returning to live in Forsyth County.

Pierce loved his Lord, family and friends. He was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, accepting the Lord as his savior at an early age.  Due to declining health he had not been able to attend church.  He loved his church very much always sitting at the same place for each service.  Pierce helped with many projects at the church, serving on the building committee, Sunday School rooms and restrooms, building of the Fellowship Hall, and help organize the cemetery fund.  The Bennett family built the baptism pool in memory of family members.  Pierce was one of the oldest members of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Allen Bennett, Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Jan Bennett, Gainesville, granddaughter and husband, Chasity and Robby Boleman, Cumming, great grandson, Bennett Boleman, Cumming, sister, Linda Gittens, Gainesville, brother and sister-in-law, Loyte and Gay Bennett, Dawsonville, sister-in-law, Hilda Bennett, Dahlonega.  A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Bennett is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Maggie Cantrell Bennett, his beloved son, Jimmy Bennett, siblings, Eulene Gazaway, Emma Jean Roper, Sarah Wilson, Marrell Smith, Opal Pugh, Ethell Bennett, Royce Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Thursday January 13, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Troy Milford, Rev. Brody Hughes and Rev. Donnie Nix will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
