Tammy “Tamer” Turner

Mrs. Tammy “Tamer” Turner, age 72 of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born in Dahlonega, Georgia on February 22, 1949 to the late Earnest Reece and the late Leona Rider Reece. She will forever be remembered as an “adventurer”. Tamer wouldn't think twice about jumping in the car and taking off to who knows where, just for the adventure of it. She always enjoyed being outdoors and being with family. She was someone who was full of life and love. When it came to her family, she would protect them at all costs. She was a woman with a firm hand and a kind heart and everyone who was fortunate enough to know Tamer would agree. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters and brother-in-laws, Vanlee (Michael) Gooch and Margie (Joe) Grindle; and sister-in-law, Linda Reece.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Leroy Turner of Dawsonville; Children, Becky (Richard) Sheets of Fairmount, Joe (Barbara) Turner of Nicholsville, Tina (Gene) Hunter of Jefferson, Cindy (Ronnie) Hughes of Fairmount, Leigh Worley of Dawsonville, Mary Ann Beck of Jefferson and Shane (Alana) Turner of Dawsonville; Siblings, Harold Reece, Louise (Larry) Smith and Vondell (Herman) Rice; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Ray Martin and Rev. Joseph Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Mill Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm.
