James Walton Fuller

Obituary Date: Monday, January 31, 2022

Mr. James Walton Fuller, age 89 of Toccoa, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 31st, 2022, at The Clary Center.

A son of the late John Benjamin and Zella Brown Fuller, he was born April 4th, 1932 in Toccoa, Stephens County Georgia where he lived his entire life. He was retired from Wabco with twenty eight years of service where he worked on the Tourapull earthmoving equipment assembly line.

James proudly served as a Fire Apprentice in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Twining in San Diego, California. Shortly after returning home in 1952, he married his high school sweetheart Betty Floyd Anderson. Being known for his quick wit and good humor, James would say, “she’s such a lucky girl.”  Mr. Fuller served with the Stephens County Camp of the Gideons International for many years. He enjoyed speaking in different churches and placing Bibles in various venues. For many years, Mr. Fuller was honored to serve as a Board Member with North Georgia Credit Union formerly known as Wabco Credit Union.

Mr. Fuller was known as a faithful encourager to everyone that crossed his path. He was always ready with a warm smile and kind words of wisdom. He had a heart for church ministry and especially for assisting, inspiring and encouraging young ministers. James served for over 70 years in dedicated service and leadership to the following local churches: Griffin First Assembly (Clarkesville Campus); Glad Tidings (Encounter); and Toccoa Congregation Holiness Church (Highpoint Worship Center).

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Perry of Jefferson, Lynn Crunkleton and Ronny of Toccoa; Johnnie Eller and Stan of Toccoa; daughter-in-law Marie Fuller of Lavonia; sister-in-law Hazel Fuller of Burgaw, NC, a number of much loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Also, special friends, Ken and Carmen Hurm of Seneca, S.C. James was the last member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his wife Betty Floyd Anderson Fuller, his son Danny Fuller; daughter-in-law Susan Crowe Fuller; son-in-law William A. “Bill” Perry; and mother-in-law Edna Hulsey Anderson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3rd, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Anthony officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Caleb Musser, Paul DeFoor, Jonathan Fuller, Steven Fuller, Issac DeFoor, Bryan Matheson and Kenny Kight.

Interment will follow in the historical Toccoa City Cemetery. Military Honors will be by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
