Hulda Mae Hood Smith

Hulda Mae Hood Smith, age 100 of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022. 

Born on December 8, 1921, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Hugh L. & Catherine Rebecca Davis Smith.  She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Savannah.  She was a star basketball player and also enjoyed sewing and making quilts.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by her husband Theron Smith, brother Hugh Lawrence Hood, Jr and sister Anna Simms. 

Survivors include daughter and son in law Dr. Jerome and Diane Smith of Clarkesville, granddaughter Catherine Rebecca Fogal of Athens, grandson Jesse Jerome Smith of Massachusetts, and great grandchildren Elijah Theron Smith and Adam Duke Smith, sister Martha Legett of Eden and Betty Turner of Pooler, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
