Wallace Edward Owens

Wallace Edward Owens, age 83 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Born in Trion, Georgia on November 15, 1938, Mr. Owens was the son of the late Edward A. & Gladys Woods Owens.  Mr. Owens was a United States Air Force Veteran and he was retired from Windstream.  He was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and was a long-time season ticket holder to their football games.  Mr. Owens was a member and former treasurer of Victory Baptist Church and he was a member of the Grant Reeves VFW Post # 7720.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens is preceded in death by brother Kenneth Warren Owens.

Survivors include his wife Eleanor Franklin Owens of Mt. Airy, daughters Kami Owens Ferguson (Greg) of Cornelia and Kelley Owens Kelley of Charleston, SC, brothers Tommy Louis Owens of Simpsonville, SC and Ellis Vaughn Owens (Jane) of North Augusta, SC, four grandchildren, one great grandchild (another great on the way) as well as numerous nieces and extended family.
