Clabus Eugene Adams

Obituary Date: Monday, February 21, 2022
Mr. Clabus Eugene Adams, 88, of Gainesville, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on December 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Lewis Quincy (L.Q) and Lois Waldrip Adams. Mr. Adams was a pillar of the community, serving in numerous positions throughout his career. Some of those position include being a teacher, Basketball Coach, Assistant Principal of South Hall High School; Principal of Oakwood Elementary and North Hall High School; Assistant Superintendent of Hall County Schools; Transportation Director of Hall County School; Head of The Migrant Education Program of Hall County just to name a few. In his free time, Mr. Adams was an avid hunter, a scratch golfer and a striper fisherman. Mr. Adams was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakwood.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Allen Adams of Gainesville; daughter, Shelia Adams Thrasher of Gainesville; son, Scott Adams of Flowery Branch; grandson, Kyle Thrasher (JeNean); great grandson, Braxton Thrasher; sisters, Annelle Allen (Wilton) of Gainesville, Clarice Bailey (John) of Flowery Branch, Marlene Reilly of Flowery Branch and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
