Florence May Long

Florence May Long, age 84, of Suwanee, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Long; father Melvin Brown; mother, Florence Buck Brown. Mrs. Long is survived by her son, John Long of Suwanee, GA; daughter, Susan Long Hunter of Independence, MO; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Joyce Snitker of Independence, MO; brother, John Brown of Dallas, TX; several nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Long was born on August 9, 1937 in Green Valley, MO and grew up in the Kansas City area and attended the University of Missouri.  She worked at Sears headquarters in Chicago, IL.  After moving to Atlanta, Mrs. Long worked for TRC Staffing as Vice President in charge of training until her retirement.  Florence remained very active during her retirement years in numerous volunteer positions.  Her passion was teaching Bible study.  She was in charge of the children’s program at B.S.F.  Arrangements are pending.
