Margaret Alice Smith

Margaret Alice Smith, 74 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday March 23, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center-Gainesville Campus. Margaret was born October 3, 1947 in Jefferson, GA., to the late Emory and Minnie Baker Mitchell.

She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Gainesville.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 58 years William Smith, special lifelong friend, Ruthie Watson; daughter, Sue Smith Arzate; sons, William "Tony" (Wendy) Smith and Michael Shane (Lynette) Smith; brother, Emory "Red" Franklin Mitchell, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday March 25, from 4-7 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, Funeral Services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Chris Bryant officiating, with interment to follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
