Mrs. Janice Elizabeth Pickering Fickel, 66, of Canton, GA, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, following an extended illness.
Memorial services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Fickel was born on July 15, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late William Henry and Janice Claire Yarroll Pickering. She was a retired Elementary School teacher, dedicating 33 years of her life to improving the lives of children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend and was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fickel was preceded in death by her husband’s parents, Earl and Marilee Fickel.
Mrs. Fickel is survived by her husband, Todd Fickel, of Canton, GA; Her daughter and son-in-law, Lauren Buker (Jason) of Tampa, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey Lynes (Dan) of Old Greenwich, CT; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan Fickel (Deirdre) of Roswell, GA; grandchildren Kaitlyn and Chase Buker, Holden and Grayson Lynes, Fallon and Foster Fickel; sister Nan O’Brien; sisters-in-law Lynne Cooper and Hope Haney, and 10 additional nieces and nephews.
