Robert Lee Vandiver

Mr. Robert Lee Vandiver, age 84, of Chicopee passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by his family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Jason Buffington and Rev. Tony Ledford will officiate.  The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2022 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Vandiver was born June 12, 1937 to the late Allen C. & Lucy Gray Vandiver in Watkinsville.  A loving father, husband, grandfather & great-grandfather, he was a member of East Hall Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for 57 years.  He was retired from Wrigley’s, where he worked for 25 years as a Mechanic and served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Vandiver is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lou Vandiver of Chicopee; daughter & son-in-law, Vickie & Dwight Merritt of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Jamie & Matt Harris of Woodstock and Collin Merritt of Flowery Branch; 2 great-grandchildren, Bailey Harris and Bella Harris; and nephew, Darren Vandiver.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Franklin Vandiver, Ed Vandiver and Larry Vandiver.
