Betty Jean "Roper" Coker

Memorial Park Riverside Chapel announces the death of Mrs. Betty Jean (Roper) Coker, age 89, of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022. Mrs. Coker was born in Gainesville, Georgia, a daughter to the late John Allen Roper Sr. and the late Cora Kemp Roper. Mrs. Coker was retired from Bellsouth, where she worked as an operator and later a frame room technician. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Coker was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton Lee “Bunk” Coker.

Survivors include her son, Richard Coker and his wife Brenda of Murrayville, GA; daughter, Theresa Freeman and her husband, Kenneth of Murrayville, GA; six grandchildren, Julie Coker of Decatur, Brad Coker and Phillip Coker both of Murrayville, Jamie (Chad) Herndon of Gainesville, Amanda (Mike) Wayne and Ashley (Jason) Day all of Murrayville; five great grandchildren, Riley Herndon, Natalie Herndon, Cora Wayne, Colton Wayne and Tucker Day also survives.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Memorial Park Riverside Chapel with Reverend Steve Baker officiating.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Memorial Park Riverside Chapel, prior to the service.
