Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Gerda B. Vaca, age 96 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Sunday, May 1, 2022. Mrs. Vaca was born in Berlin, Germany the daughter of the late Albert and Irma Kuntz. Mrs. Vaca retired as a Clerical Secretary with New York Mutual Insurance Company, was a member of St. Catherine’s Laboure Catholic Church, Jefferson, was a member of the Silver Sneakers and along with her husband, a member of Citizens Observer Patrol, Broward County, Florida.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-years, Rene A. Vaca of Jefferson, GA. Two sons, Rene E. Vaca (Debra) of Hoschton, GA and Peter A. Vaca (Laura) of Midland, N.C. Three grandchildren, Thomas A. Vaca of Camp Lejeune, N.C., Matthew E. Vaca (Fiance’, Esperanza “Espi”) of Jacksonville, FL and Jessica E. Vaca of Marietta, GA. One great grandchild, Violet E. Vaca of Jacksonville, FL.

A funeral mass will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at St. Catherine’s Laboure Catholic Church with Father Bryan Kuhr officiating. Gentlemen honored as pallbearers are Rene E. Vaca, Peter A. Vaca, Matthew E. Vaca, Thomas A. Vaca, Jessica E. Vaca and Rene A. Vaca. The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 6, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
