Mrs. Irene T. Waller born August 1, 1946, in Hartwell, Ga to the late Ruby Nell Walker and James Thornton.
Mrs. Waller attended Hart County School systems and moved to Gainesville at the tender age of 20. She was married to her wonderful husband of 25 years, the late Mr. James Edward Waller Sr. She was Baptist of faith. Where she grew up attending New Hope in Hartwell, Ga. She then moved her membership to Greater Timber Ridge Baptist Church. She was a member of the choir, deaconess board, kitchen committee, usher board and pastor aides. She worked for Peachtree Windows and Doors for many years where she later retired.
Her passion was gardening her vegetables and planting her flowers. You could also find her in the kitchen whipping up some of the best meals for her family and the community she lived in. Her neighbors would show their appreciation by gifting her the things she loved "Flowers"
Mrs. Waller is preceded in death by her late husband’s Mr. James Geter and Mr. James Waller Sr. Her brother John Lee Thornton who was a twin. Sister- Julia Thornton the other twin and Doris T. Hickman.
She leaves to cherish her memory to her daughter Johanna (Johnie) Cade of Gainesville, Ga and son James (Phyllis) Geter of Lawrenceville, Ga. Bonus children Melinda Hutchins of Norcross, Ga, James (Sue) Waller Jr of Michigan, and Cortney (Tyrone) Ellison of Gainesville, Ga. Brother Melvin Thornton of Gainesville, Ga. Grandkids- Kissy Thornton of Gainesville, Ga, Teasha "Irene" Thornton of Braselton, Ga, Natasha Thornton of Gainesville, GA, Antoinette Geter of San Antonio, Tx, Isaiah Thornton of Gainesville, Ga Frances Geter of Lawrenceville, Ga. Bonus Grandchildren- Shadera and Ni'javia Cade of Elberton, Ga, Jauvis, Kasheena and Keyona Singleton, JaVohn Hutchins all of Norcross, Ga., Candid and Joshua Waller of Michigan. Brother and Sister in Laws- Billy (Betty) Waller, Michael (Diane) Waller, Evelyn Lay, Denise Gibson and Dorothy Waller all of Gainesville, Ga. 8 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren along with bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren. One special daughter Evelyn Cade and one special nephew Randy Hickman. A host of nephews, nieces, special friends and 2 grandogs.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Wimberly Funeral Home from 12:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Saint John Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
