Robert Harold Long

Robert Harold Long, age 88 of Gainesville entered heaven Tuesday June 21, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side.

Robert was born June 13, 1934 in Cleveland, Georgia to the late David Leon & Martha Cleo Turner Long. He retired from Pilgrims with over 65 years of service. He served his Country in the United States Army and was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Long.

Left to cherish his memories, wife of 63 years, Barbara Long; son, David Long; daughters, Lisa (Danny) Gillespie & Christy (Danny) Ziemer; grandchildren, Evan Gillespie, Luke Ziemer, Logan Ziemer & Nichole Blalock; great grandchildren, Michael Cooper, Landon Blalock & Hayden Blalock; brother, Grady Long; a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday June 24, 2022 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Danny Ziemer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Memorial Gardens, Gainesville. The family will receive friends Thursday June 23, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
