Jani Lynn Warner

Obituary Date: Wednesday, June 22, 2022

Jani Lynn Warner left this earth on June 22 2022 to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.  She was born in Viroqua, Wisconsin and left earth from Gainesville, Georgia.  Lynn was a devote reader of the word of God, a seeker of truth, an artist who loved to make pen and ink drawings, a horse lover and observer of nature (earth and sky).  She was an excellent wife, and a fantastic mother who will be greatly missed on earth, but we rejoice that she fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith and was promoted to Heaven by the Great Shepard Jesus Christ.  Her mother Gloria Hayes preceded her in death in 2020.  Lynn leaves behind her husband, Dwight, two sons, Nathan (daughter-in-law Natalie and granddaughter Elara), and Ellis (daughter-in-law Ling and grandson James and granddaughter Madison).  She also leaves behind her three sisters Jennifer Whaley, Jenean Kim and Ava McKnight, her brother in law Scott Whaley, and nieces and nephews, Chris Whaley, Josh Whaley, and Katelyn Whaley, Gabe Soderbeck, Caleb Soderbeck (deceased 2009) and Grace Soderbeck. Funeral services will be held Monday June 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hillside Chapel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Dee Hammond will officiate. Remembrance by Nathan & Ellis It is fresh in my mind that Mom labored long hours at the house hand-pulling hoary alyssum weeds that were dangerous to our grazing horses and the diversity of the wild prairie. Every year she restored the land and preserved it.  This was one of her many pride and joys. As a mother, she was watchful and protective of her sons, and sacrificed her time to homeschool them. An educator and researcher, Mom needed to know why things were the way they were, having, a natural desire to seek out the truth. She had a sharp mind, quick wit, and love of reason and logic which she passed on to her family. She led our family in the discovery of our Scottish and Celtic heritage nurturing a love of knowledge and literature. I recall the nostalgia of weekly trips to Bookstores as kids where My brother and I discovered history and science books beside our lifelong enjoyment of Narnia, the Lord of the Rings, Tintin, Star Trek, etc. Mom had an adventurous spirit and love of horses. She loved the noble animals and instilled that love in her family.  She believed kids needed to learn relational cause-and-effect and non-verbal cues and horses were her favorite animal for teaching kids.  My brother and I grew up with Arabian horses Corrie and Benjamin, stout and sturdy Morgans Magic (Mad Jack) and Landon, and the impish Welsh pony Sky. I think most of all, Mom loved long conversations over coffee and tea with her family about the natural order and spiritual things, instilling a love of good, intelligent, and noble conversation.  I think I will miss this the most.  We will miss you, Mom, while you go on before us to the promises of Christ for His people and we look forward to the day we will be with you again in the Restoration of all things, which was your joy. Selected favorite Bible verses: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.  - - He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1: 1-14) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:1-6). Hillside Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gainesville, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
