Joel Lee Dodd

Joel Lee Dodd, age 41, of Alto, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022. 

Born on April 8, 1981, in Gainesville, he was a son of Franklin and Joy Dodd of Alto. Joel was a loving father to his daughter, Madelynn, who was the highlight of his life. He was also a rugged outdoorsman with an outgoing and charismatic personality. Heavy equipment was his passion from childhood and he worked successfully in heavy equipment sales for a number of years. He was an avid football fan, especially of the Georgia Bulldogs. 

Joel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Dodd; and several aunts. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Madelynn Leigh Dodd of Jefferson; brother and sister-in-law, Casey Dodd (Dakota) of San Diego, California, and their children, James and Lillian Dodd; grandmother, Lillian Dodd of Alto; girlfriend, Zoe Jenkins of Cornelia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services are at 2 pm, Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Alto Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Rev. Jeff Lovell officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 2 -4 and 6 – 8 pm, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the funeral home.
