Roger Coit Chappell

Roger Coit Chappell, age 95, of Albertville, AL, passed away on August 31, 2022. He is preceded in death by his wife: Donna Lorraine Gresham Chappell.

Roger is survived by Donna’s daughters: Pamela Sue O’Connor-Smith of Cumming, GA, Barbara Jean Holihan (Mark) of Lake Oconee, GA and Cynthia Jo O’Connor of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren: Fred T. Smith (Stephanie) of Delray Beach, FL, Frank Smith (Nicole) of Cumming, GA, Ryan O’Connor (Carla) of San Luis Obispo, CA, Joey Holihan (Kim) of Cumming, GA, Jennifer Holihan of Athens, GA and Melinda Holihan (Jeff) of Woodstock, GA; and great grandchildren: Zachary C. Smith, Haley Smith, Zachary M. Smith, Sophia Smith, Reagan O’Connor, Ryan “Joseph” O’Connor, Alora Collazo, Eliana Collazo, Eva Metthe, Lucy Metthe, Sal Rodriguez and Olivia Rodriguez.

Roger served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a member of the American Legion.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 3:00 pm until service time at 4:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall at McDonald and Son. Graveside services will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:00 am.
