Virginia K. Whitfield

Mrs. Virginia K. Whitfield, 95, of Gainesville, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Oaks at Limestone.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Dwayne Wellborn and Oma Millwood will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on May 26, 1927 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late James Mack Kidd and the late Rachel Wilson Kidd. She was a former employee of New Holland Mill where she was a weaver. Mrs. Whitfield attended Free Chapel.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitfield was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Leon Whitfield and brothers, Vernon Kidd, Bill Kidd, and Leon Kidd.

Mrs. Whitfield is survived by her daughters, Linda Ann Addison of Gainesville, Deborah Martin of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Becky and Harold Deyton of Gainesville; daughter, Cathy Johnson of Braselton; son, Jesse Leon Whitfield, Jr of Clermont; daughter and son in law, Brenda and Hoa Trinh of Gainesville; sister, Lorene Hammond of Flowery Branch; 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and a number of other loving relatives.
