Greg Chumley, 60, of Marble Hill passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at his residence following a sudden illness.
Born January 14, 1962, Greg had been a resident of Marble Hill for all of his life. He was a member of Dawsonville Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. For several years he worked at Shoal Creek Building Supply in Dawsonville and currently worked at Crystal Falls Golf Club. A loving father, brother, uncle and grandfather, his family was the most important part of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loy and Lois Chumley; daughter, Jinnifer Chumley; and nephew, Jeff Bearden.
Surviving are his daughter, Jessica Byars of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Christian, Carter, Oakley; Sisters, Glenda Black of Marble Hill, Linda Bearden of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters in law, Randy and Barbara Chumley of Marble Hill, Tracy and Rhonda Chumley of Dawsonville; companion for many years, Carolyn Ingram of Dawsonville and her family, Lorann Rowan and Chris Moore, Phillip and Katrina Bailey, Taylor, Tiffanie, Lexie, Lakyn, and Logan; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Cory Gilleland will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of service on Friday.
