Michael Thomas Boyle, age 66, of Rabun Gap, Georgia passed away on September 23, 2022.
He was born the son of the late John Lawrence Boyle and the late Betty Melander Boyle on May 9, 1956. Michael attended Lakeshore High School, College Park, Georgia in 1976. He went on to serve his country in the United State Air Force from 1976 – 1989 and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He went on to work in aviation, running private repair stations in Texas and Georgia. He enjoyed fishing for all types of fish, and also enjoyed playing video games with his grandchildren. Michael loved the mountains, he loved target shooting, and he loved his dogs, Daisy and Beau. Michael also enjoyed working with his hands and tinkering in his shop. He enjoyed playing, umpiring and coaching the co-ed softball league. He will be remembered as one who worked hard and played hard, and who did many charitable works for worthy organizations, such as the Special Olympics. Michael loved the Lord Jesus and always was one to profess his faith. He was a Christian and attended the Clayton Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Patricia Boyle Shepard, preceded him in death.
His survivors include his loving wife, Mary Boyle, of the home; two sons, Simon Edward Boyle of Texas and David Charles Boyle, of England; two daughters, Laura Vaughn Sullivan (Eli), of Florida; Kris Leigh Cole (Stephen), of Georgia; two brothers, Dr. Steven Boyle (Ethel), of Georgia, John L. Boyle, of Michigan; two sisters, Nancy Ann Christian of North Carolina, Mary Agnes Swapshire of Georgia; four grandchildren, Michael Ross Cole, Mark Ryan Cole, Noah David Cole, Paul Paige Sullivan, also survive.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Clayton Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 12:00pm at the Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, Georgia with Rev. Joey Thompson officiating.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Michael’s memory to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund P.O. Box 485 Rabun Gap, GA 30568.
