Rev.William Keel Holcomb

Obituary Date: Thursday, September 29, 2022

Rev. William Keel Holcomb was born August 17, 1931, in Gainesville, Georgia to Posey Lipscomb and Martha Owen. Bill passed away Thursday, September 29th in Fayetteville, North Carolina at home surrounded by his family. 

Bill served as a pastor in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church and was the appointed pastor of Holly Springs UMC (Pendergrass), Dunagan Chapel UMC (Gainesville), Candler UMC (Gainesville), Trinity UMC (LaGrange), Second Avenue UMC (Rome), Villa Rica First UMC (Villa Rica), and Buford First UMC (Buford), where he retired. He then served part-time at Douglasville First UMC (Douglasville). He faithfully served with kindness, humility, and humor. 

Bill was cared for by his daughter Kathy and son-in-law Ricky, and daughter Laurie and daughter-in-law Sylvia for many years. He is survived by them, his daughter Emily, and grandchildren Ashleigh (Rafa), Elizabeth, Emily (Mark), and Max, and great-granddaughter Harper. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and daughter Allison. 

The graveside funeral service will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery in Gainesville, Georgia on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 pm.
