Robert D. "Doug" Howard

Mr. Robert D. “Doug” Howard, age 78, of Commerce, GA was born March 4, 1944 to the late, Charles William and Helen Opal Thomas Howard in Okmulgee, OK and went to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 05, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  He graduated from Pasadena High School, Pasadena, TX in 1962, served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966, worked as a deputy sheriff, police officer, correctional officer and security guard.  Mr. Howard was married twice and loved both of his wives dearly.  He believed in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and tried to follow the Ten Commandments.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Howard.

He did not father any children but helped raise Jessica, Heather, Christa and Jessie.  In addition to the ones he helped raise, Mr. Howard is survived by his second wife, Barbara Wade Howard of Commerce; step-children, Sam Wilson (Connie) of Danielsville and Lesia Woodall (Lane) of Commerce; sister, Donna Dause of Pasadena, TX; grandson, Jessie Wilson of Athens and a number of nieces.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Thursday, October 6 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.
