Mr. Ernest Wendell Cross, 76, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 following a sudden illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Redwine United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Monday, October 17th from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on October 26, 1945 in Thomaston, GA, he was the son of the late Ernest Clyde Cross and the late Inez Waddell Cross. Mr. Cross was a proud veteran of the United States Army, he served in the 931st Corp of Engineers. He opened his own business Cross Engineering in 1983. Mr. Cross was a member of Redwine United Methodist Church.
Mr. Cross is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Cross of Gainesville; daughters and sons in law, Wendy and Mike Ledford of Gainesville, GA, Kelly and Marc Allread of Rincon, GA; grandson, Sid Haynes (Nicole) of Gainesville, GA; granddaughters, Whitney Ledford of Gainesville, GA, Lindsey Ledford of Gainesville, GA, Abie Houston (Spencer) of Rincon, GA; grandsons, Nathan Allread of Rincon, GA, Lawson Cross Allread of Rincon, GA; great granddaughters , Cordelia Haynes and Adelaide Haynes both of Gainesville, GA.
