Leana "Nana" Roach

Obituary Date: Wednesday, November 9, 2022
Leana "Nana" Roach went home to Jesus on November 09, 2022, at age 76.

Leana was born to Rex and Mary Raney on February 06, 1946, in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Leana met her soulmate, Jim Roach (JR) in 1964 on a blind date at her mama's house by the pool table. The first time JR laid eyes on Leana, he knew he would marry her - after shooting pool, he knew even more concretely, Leana was the one for him. They have been best friends ever since.  Leana attended the University of Tennessee. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Leana and Jim married in June 1966 and went on to have four children, Vanessa Beckham (husband Mike Beckham), Amanda Hennebaul (husband Jerry Hennebaul), Rustin Roach (wife Kimberly Roach) and Dusty Roach (wife Catherine Roach).   In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, Leana also loved her 13 grandbabies - Bailey, Samantha, Luke, Nick, Zach, Maggie, Lex, Siena, Oliver, Tyler, Hannah, Brynn, and Andi.  Leana had many circles of friends.   Her love for life was contagious.  Leana served her community in many ways- she served on the Youth Diversion Program Panel, Mill Creek Educational Foundation, Executive board for the Home of Hope, and past Treasurer for State of Georgia PTA.  Leana loved giggling with friends, bowling (for over 50 years), serving on her HOA (president) and serving her beloved Church, Good Samaritan. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was also a member of the Order of St. Luke.  Leana is preceded in death by her mother and father Mary and Rex Raney, and brothers William Raney (Buster) and Bradley Raney. She leaves behind her husband JR, daughters Vanessa Beckham and Amanda Hennebaul, sons Rustin and Dustin Roach, along with her 13 grandbabies, precious pup "Chip" and countless friends.
