Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Charlie Watson, age 94 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Thursday, November 17, 2022. Mr. Watson was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late June and Mamie Shields Watson and was a retired Truck Driver with Conagra. In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson is preceded by a son, Charlie Joe Watson, and brothers, Bobby, Crawford, Willie J. and Robert Watson.
Survivors include his wife, Odessa Mae Wilson Watson of Jefferson. Daughters, Joyce Brooks of Jefferson, Mary Watson of Commerce, Doris Watson of Jefferson, Cathy Watson of Jefferson, and Annette Watson of Jefferson. Sons, C.W. Watson of Jefferson, and Ronald Watson of South Carolina. Brother, Billy Watson of Jefferson. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survives.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Chandler, and Reverend Roy Tarpkins officiating with burial to follow in Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home. Grandchildren will be honored as pallbearers.
