James Thomas Payne

Mr. James Thomas Payne, age 52 of North Abby Lane, Toccoa, GA, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at the northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

A son of John and Johnnie Mae LaCount Payne, he was born September 2, 1970 in Stephens County where he livid all of his life.  He was employed with CNN News for a number of years and later with J.V. Whitlock Recycling Company and was a member of the Toccoa Church of Christ.

Survivors include his parents John and Johnnie Mae LaCount Payne of Toccoa, sons, Dawson Payne of Toccoa, Brian Payne of Toccoa, Afghanistan and Pakistan, step-son Jordan Wilson of Toccoa, brother John Payne of Toccoa, aunts Louise Lathan of Toccoa and Ellene Cason of Carnesville, a number of cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 2 PM at Toccoa Church of Christ with Mr. Robert Gunn, Minister Aubrey Prestridge and Mr. Dawson Payne officiating.  The following will serve as pallbearers, John Payne, Dawson Payne, Robert Gunn, Jordan Wilson, Brian Weeks, and Greg Andrews, Honorary Escort will be Brian Payne

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 12;30 until time to leave for the service.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements for Mr. James Thomas Payne.
