Virginia Lott Clark of Flowery Branch passed away peacefully Friday, February 3, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved Christian woman, wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family and her faith.
Virginia was born on May 29, 1932 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Dean and Elizabeth Lott. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, she continued to Georgia College and State University where she obtained a degree in home economics. She pursued a career in education and was a well-respected educator for over 30 years teaching school in the Gainesville and Hall County School systems. After retirement, she devoted herself to her church, friends, and family. She was an active member of Sugar Hill Methodist Church, member of the Friendship Sunday school class and the Sonshine Circle.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Elizabeth Lott, and sister Shirley Moore. She leaves behind her much loved husband Curtis of 67 years, their daughters and sons-in law, Betsy and Bob Turner, Jeanie and Parkes Hughes and beloved granddaughter Isabella Hughes.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. John R. Moore, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m., Saturday, February 11, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd, Gainesville, GA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
