Guy Edwin “Pops” Platt, Sr.

Mr. Guy Edwin “Pops” Platt, Sr., 85, of Sugar Hill, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Dave Channell will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 10th from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Born on August 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Murray Hildred and Bertha Williamson Platt. Mr. Platt was a proud veteran of the Navy Reserves. Mr. Platt was in the sales industry selling medical equipment. He was a member and deacon at Blackshear/ Christ Place Church, a member of the choir, Benevolence committee, Prayer Committee, shut in ministry, delivered for Meals on Wheels. He attended Southern Polly Tech and was a GA Tech fan.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Platt was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Platt.

Mr. Platt is survived by his wife, Genie Platt of Sugar Hill; son, Guy Edwin Platt, Jr. of Johns Creek, GA; daughter and son in law, Shelli and Kenneth Moll of Tierra Verde, FL; son and daughter in law, Keith and Margaret Platt of Oakwood; grandchildren, Matthew and Jennifer Moll, Mallory and David Nash, Luke and Olga Platt, Levi and Kristen Platt, Guy Edwin Platt, III, Trish Jenkins, Tyler Platt, Hannah Platt; great grandchildren, Zacary Nash, Emma Moll, Mackenzie Nash, James Alexander Platt, Isaac Platt, Wyatt Platt and a number of other loving relatives.
