James Eugene Ford, age 87, of Hazelhurst, GA passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Mauldin Ford; children, Larry Mauldin, Deborah Phillips, Melinda Mauldin, Sara Husted; siblings, Henry John William, Farling Ford, Carolyn Kimball, Jeannie Mae Ford, Florine Malcom.  He is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Thomas) Mitchell, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Sammy Chambers, Lilburn, GA, Ginny Mauldin, Cumming, GA, Tara Cantrell, Dawsonville, GA, Stephanie Hewatt, Hazlehurst, GA, Robin Reagin, Hazlehurst, GA, Jamie Chambers, Dacula, GA, Wendi Chambers, Auburn, GA, Dee Dee Chambers, Auburn, GA, Jesse Mauldin, Buford, GA, Clint Mauldin, Hazlehurst, GA; 35 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; 1 niece; 1 nephew.  Mr. Ford was born on June 2, 1935 in Chamblee, GA.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was also a retired handyman.  A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA with Rev. Andrew Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Duluth, GA.  A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home.
