Carolyn Lancaster Parks

Carolyn Lancaster Parks, age 85, of Buford, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence H. and Estelle Lancaster; sisters, Ruth Whitt, Rosanelle Ridgeway; brothers, C.H. Lancaster, Jr., Jack Lancaster, Harry Lancaster, grandson, Stephen Moore.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Samuel Parks, Buford, GA; daughters, Myra Parks Moore (Jeff), Cumming, GA, Anita Parks Higgins (Ted), Buford, GA; son, Jonathan Parks, Buford, GA; 3 grandchildren, Natalie Brackett Wade (Jeremy), Buford, GA, Lauren Brackett Moyer (David), Flowery Branch, GA, Philip (Katie) Moore, Dawsonville, GA; step-grandchildren, Heather Higgins Brown (Dustin), Jason Higgins (Brooke); great-grandchildren, Gabe, Evie, Piercyn, Olive, Rayna, Ashlyn, Addy, Brynlee, Remi, Colton; sisters-in-law, Doris Parks Kent, Cumming, GA, Lavone Parks Millwood, Gainesville, GA; brothers, James N.(Ozelle) Parks, Dawsonville, GA, L.C. (Joan) Parks, Lula, GA; several nieces nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Parks was born June 7, 1937 in Cherokee County.  She was a 1955 graduate of Sugar Hill High School.  She had worked for a defense contractor as technical assembler for 12 years and was also a Homemaker.  Mrs. Parks was a long-time member of Buford Church of God.  She enjoyed traveling, loved nature, singing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.  She was an excellent cook and enjoyed getting together with her 1955 graduating class each month.  A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the Buford Church of God with Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating.  Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
