Trina Thomas Wingo

Trina Thomas Wingo, 52, of Murrayville, entered the loving arms of Jesus on February 14, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Wingo was a follower of Jesus and a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, coach, and friend. She was a long-time member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. She was very active in the life of her church, serving in various positions including Sunday School teacher and choir member.

Mrs. Wingo was a graduate of Truett McConnell University and the University of North Georgia. Up until her untimely death, she was a teacher and cheer coach at North Hall High School. Mrs. Wingo was beloved by countless students at North Hall—many of them viewing her as their “school mama.”

Mrs. Wingo is survived by her husband Chad Wingo; children Brittney Turner (Taylor), Chase Gunter (Morgan), Luke Gunter, Matthew Gunter, Kaylie Wingo, Austin Wingo, Brock Wingo, and Emma Wingo; parents Edsel and Carolyn Thomas; brothers Trevor Thomas (Michelle) and Brent Thomas; parents-in-law C.L. and Shelby Wingo; brother-in-law Greg Wingo; sister-in-law Lisa Roberts; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, Cleveland, GA. The Reverends Chris Anderson, Josh Chatham, and Joe Vernon will officiate. Interment will follow at the Shoal Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lakewood Baptist Church, Gainesville, GA.
