Louise Garrett

Louise Garrett, 85, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023 following a period of declining health.

Born December 29, 1937 in Dawson County to the late Jewell and Anniebelle Slaton, she had lived in Hall County for over 50 years.  She was formerly employed as a secretary at Dixie Tire in Gainesville.  The most joy in her life was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Louise enjoyed doing crafts and was of the Baptist faith.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joe Slaton.

Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Wayne Garrett, Gainesville; daughters and son in law, Denise and Leon Grizzle, Dahlonega, Paula Garrett, Gainesville; grandchildren, Cory and Suzanne Parks, Megan and Kyle Durant; brother and sister in law, Glenn and Diane Slaton, Kennesaw.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Tony Holtzclaw and Rev. Joey Gilbert will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
