James Harrison Hanes, Jr.

Mr. James Harrison Hanes, Jr., age 96 of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his residence following a brief illness.       

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Marshall Dale will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 12:00 noon – 3:00, prior to the service, at the funeral home.      

Mr. Hanes was born June 30, 1926 in Flowery Branch, Georgia to the late James Harrison Hanes, Sr. and Dora Elizabeth Deaton Hanes.  He was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing as a Supervisor of the Spool Room.  James was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, Paul Jerome Hanes, Frank Talmadge Hanes, Clyde Hanes, Ralph Hanes, Jessie Dean Weaver, Willie May Jones, Fannie Lou Pierce, Addie Line Harrison, Ruby Nell Gee and Altha Lea Kendrick.    

Mr. Hanes is survived by his wife, Jessie Lee Brown Hanes, of Cleveland, special great-niece and great-nephew, Shannon & David Vandiver and special great-great-nieces, Shalyn Vandiver and Shaylie Vandiver, all of Cleveland.
