Jane Ruth Simpson Thompson

Mrs. Jane Ruth Simpson Thompson, age 96 of Ridgeland Road, Eastanollee passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Luther Noah Simpson and Lillie Mae Roberts Simpson, she was born May 15, 1926 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County.  She was retired from the Stephens County School System where she worked in the cafeteria.  She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.  She enjoyed camping in the Smokies.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle William Thompson in 2007, by a son, Bill Thompson in 2014 and by her four siblings, J.D. Simpson, Eula Mae Shirley, Lucille Simpson and Margie Bell.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty Burnette of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Betty Thompson, Doug and Sherri Thompson and Ricky Thompson all of Eastanollee; seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 10, 2023, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dale Simpson, Kevin Thompson, Bryan Thompson, Larry Isbell, Bobby Thompson and Andy Thompson.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jane Ruth Simpson Thompson.
