Rose Clary

Mrs. Rose Clary, age 93, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023. She was born on January 22, 1930, in Ohoopee, Georgia (Toombs County). She was the only child of Alma Louise Meadows Franklin (Wezie) and Hoke Franklin.

She grew up in Lyons, Georgia, and was very proud of that. She graduated from high school there in 1947. She attended UGA in Athens, Georgia, where she met the love of her life, Wallace Clary, in September of 1947. They were married on October 2, 1949, in Lyons and made their first home together in Miami, Florida.

Later they moved to the Atlanta area, where they raised their family. They spent many years in the furniture business. Even after moving to Dahlonega, they had a furniture store on the square.

Rose was known for her joyous personality, steadfast faith, and her love for her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Wallace Clary; and sons William Mitchell Clary and Wallace Clary Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Clary Patrick (Glenn); son George Franklin Clary (Phyllis); grandchildren Virginia Clary, Dr. Caroline Clary Molter (Zach), Brandon Patrick (Keri); and great-grandchildren Caleb Patrick, Reese Patrick, and Alice Molter.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the service hour. Interment will take place in the Lincolnton City Cemetery in Lincolnton, Georgia on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Mrs. Clary to Rainbow Children's Home or a charity of your choice.
