Joseph Thomas Zeimet

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Thomas Zeimet, age 35, on Monday April 17th, 2023 after a tragic car accident. He passed at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. His life came to an unexpected end and has left everyone impacted by him in dismay.

“Joey” was born on September 17, 1987, to Thomas and Sandra Zeimet in Minnesota. He lived in Stoughton, WI, where his love for the Packers and Badgers grew. In 1995, his family relocated to Georgia and began his “southern roots”. In 2005, he graduated from Collins Hill High School and went on to face the world as a working professional.

Joey loved life, family, friends, having fun and the work he did at NAK Kiln Services. Some would say, they were his passion. As a loving father, he and James enjoyed many trips fishing and spending quality father-son time together. If there is a legacy Joey can leave behind, it's that James knew he was loved unconditionally, and Joey tried to raise him to be the best man he can be. Joey was incredibly smart, a loving son, the fun uncle, a valued co-worker, and a loyal friend to many.

Joey is survived by his son; James Thomas Zeimet; parents, Thomas and Sandra Zeimet; grandparents, David and Sandy Henault; grandfather, Daniel Zeimet; sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Justin Tilton and their daughters, Elisabeth and Brooklyn Tilton.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jean Henault; and grandmother, Diane Zeimet.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Joey will be held Friday, April 28th at 1:30 PM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch. Father Adam Blatt will officiate.

Memorial Park South Funeral Home at 4121 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, an educational fund is being created for his son, James. Any contributions will be added to the generous gift from Joey's employer. More information will be available shortly.
