Rhett Walker Branson

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 25, 2023

Rhett Walker Branson, age 28, of Demorest, GA left his earthly home and family for his heavenly home, where he is now resting with our Lord on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Rhett was born in Augusta, Georgia on October 05, 1994. He was the son and stepson of Dell & Dee Branson of Demorest, GA and Debra Page Branson of Clarkesville, GA. Rhett currently worked for Durable Steel Structures as a Welder/Fabricator and previously worked as a Cell Tower Technician for approximately 8 years, a job in which he excelled and loved. In his spare time, since a small child, Rhett’s passion was fishing, trading, and riding motorcycles and four wheelers. Most of all, Rhett loved his son, Walker, the light of his life. They shared a bond that was unmatched. Rhett was known for his humor, beautiful smile, laughter, and most of all his kindness. Rhett loved his family. He was an unwavering friend, always willing to give or help someone, especially those struggling. Rhett knew hardship and

fought his own demons. His untimely death shed light to that. Yet, we can find the upmost solace in knowing that Rhett, a born again Christian, is free of any worry, pain, or struggle, now resting in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Rhett was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather John Truman Page; paternal grandparents Retired Major William Branson & Mary Jean Branson; paternal aunt Julia Darnell; and paternal uncle Bill Branson.

Survivors include his son, Walker Ryan Branson of Cleveland, GA; mother, Debra Branson of Clarkesville, GA; father & step-mother, Dell & Dee Branson of Demorest, GA; brother & sister-in-law, Drew & Hali Branson and their children, Karagan and Elijah Branson and Kenli, Kayli, Kori, and Karalai Jarrard of Mount Airy, GA; his sister & brother-in-law, Courtney & Sergeant First Class Jason Cheek and their son, Nashton Cheek, of Canton, GA; maternal grandmother, Martha C. Page of Aiken, SC; uncles & aunts, John & Cynthia Branson, Al & Kathy Branson, Leslie Branson, Pamela Kulp, Donna & Ridge Ridgely; several cousins, other important relatives, & a whole host of friends.

Even though Rhett struggled with demons and addiction, his heart was to be free of them and to see the same for his friends and those he held dear also struggling in the fight of addiction. His family would like to encourage others who may have a substance abuse problem to seek the help they need and so greatly deserve. It would have been what Rhett wanted as well.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Anderson officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
