Gloria Hulsey Payne

Gloria Hulsey Payne, age 80, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully Wednesday May 10, 2023, with her daughter and special friend by her side.
Mrs. Payne was born on November 21, 1942, in Gainesville, Ga. She was an educator for the White County Board of Education.  Mrs. Payne retired in 2000 after 33 years of teaching. She also was bookkeeper for Nix Hardware for many years.  She is preceded in death by her Mother and Stepfather, Gertrude Nix Reed and Coleman Thomas Reed, Sr. and brother Coleman Thomas “Tommy” Reed, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter Suzanne Payne and partner Eddie Perry, Cleveland; sister and brother in law, Susan and Randy Dunn, Cleveland; sister Anne Reed, Cleveland; Sister in law and spouse Anne and Claude Rickman, Clayton; granddaughter and spouse, Lindsey and Tony Tavizon, Cleveland; grandson, Will Whitmire, Cleveland and special nephew and niece, Jake Dunn, Cleveland and Anna Cole Rickman, Clayton; niece, Michelle Carroll and family, Cleveland, many cousins and special friend, David Greenwood, Cleveland.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 11am at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Reverend Dennis Turner will officiate.  Interment will be in Gateway Memory Park, Cleveland, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm Friday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to your charity of choice in her memory.
