Rev. William "Bill" J. Lawson

Rev. William "Bill" J. Lawson, 90 of Cleveland passed away Friday May 12, 2023.  Bill was born in Hall County on January 5, 1933, to the late Irvin and Bessy Kemp Lawson. 

Bill and his wife Betty lived in Hall County for many years before moving to White County where he served in ministry for over 60 years, he pastored at least 17 churches before retiring due to health reasons and helping care for his wife Betty. He also worked his chicken, cattle and horse farm for many years. He also loved to go camping.

He is preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Bessy Lawson, wife of 72 years, Betty C. Lawson, son Steve Lawson and daughter Kathy Woody. 

Bill is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Carl East, Dahlonega; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Norma Lawson, Peoria, Illinois; and daughter-in-law Terry Lawson, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday May 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Kevin Woody and Rev. Mark Hutchinson will officiate.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday May 15, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 5233 Will Wheeler Rd., Murrayville, GA., 30564 in Bills memory.
