Edward Timothy "Tim" Welch

Edward Timothy “Tim” Welch, age 79, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on May 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Curran Welch and Mary Elizabeth Rigney, and his sister, Mary Margaret Welch. Born on December 19, 1943, and raised in Rochester, NY, Tim attended McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester and graduated from Florida Central Academy in Deland, FL. He went on to graduate from the University of Miami, where he became a lifelong and very enthusiastic Hurricane football (and lately basketball) fan!

When Tim returned to Rochester he met and married the love of his life, Barbara Mazzei on December 27, 1969. Shortly thereafter they decided warmer weather was in their future so they moved to the Metro Atlanta area and fell in love with it. They raised two children, Terry and Shannon, there.

Tim’s primary business career was selling major conveyor systems throughout the Southeast. He was a top salesman in his industry. Tim’s real passion was boating and being on or near the water. He loved cruising with family and friends on Lake Lanier and just sitting on his dock listening to his favorite rock and roll music.

In addition to Barbara, he is survived by his son, Terry, and daughter-in-law, Nikki, and grandchildren, Tyler, Dallas, and Alexis. Also by his daughter, Shannon Welch Hayes, son-in-law, Lee, and granddaughter, Maggie. He is also survived by his brother, Jon Welch, and sister-in-law, Sandy, plus numerous nieces and nephews as well as grandnieces and grandnephews.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Tim will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him!

Services will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 11:00 am at Memorial Park South Funeral Home, 4121 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch GA, 30542
